to Sony as i cannot email then myself,

There has been a lot of talk over the internet with the issue of the PS4 disc drive which stops reading discs, I have been a long fan of Sony game consoles since the original PSX, I thought that the days of the horrible PS2 disc drive problems would be far behind us with the leaps in technology since then. I remember I must have swapped my ps2 over 8 times when the disc drive stopped reading either blue backed dvd or silver backed dvd’s, now again I am suffering with my PS4 now not reading discs most of the time.

When I turn the console on I can guarantee that the console will not read the disc and I will have to reboot the system again and try multiple times before the system reads the disc, there have been a lot of posts all over the internet that this again is a common problem with the PS4’s and there is no way to fully fix the console except but another system.

This is not a few odd consoles that have this issue but a wide number of people that suffered that issue, if you look on youtube there are a high number of “PS4 disc drive fix” videos on there and even the official Playstation forum has a number of threads on this very problem, this shows that there have been a high number of defective disc drives used on PS4 models.

It seems that this is a pattern with Sony consoles as I own consoles from other makers that I still use and they still have disc drives working without ever not being able to read a disc, I will probably will not get a reply from this or I will be told that my only option is to buy another console.

I find it a shame that your loyal fans are being sold products that don’t last over 5 years, the disc drive in my pc is a lot older than my PS4 and that is still going strong so I don’t understand why only Sony consoles seem to have an issues with disc drives. I know I have the option to download my games onto my hard drive but the prices are unrealistic even if you are a PS+ member which I currently was.

I know I will be told the only option is to pay £125 for a repair or replacement which is not an answer when there are consoles with defective parts in them, we the user always get screwed in the end.
