Firstly to get it out the way, the console isn't downloading any updates, does not have anything plugged into the USB ports, and does not have a disc in the drive
Ever since the last update, my console now refuses to go into rest mode as it used to. The console used to be completely silent, even when downloading updates or charging from the usb. I've read numerous times on other posts that it might be because the console is downloading updates but I've checked and double checked and nothing is downloading.
I downloaded the most recent update and now I can hear the fan running constantly unless I completely power the console down, and there is a fair bit of heat coming out of the back of the console even when it's in rest mode
At first I thought it might be because I had the PSVR plugged into the console but even with it and the pass through box completely disconnected my console is still behaving like this. It definitely wasn't behaving like this until I updated to the latest firmware version
Has anybody else experienced this since the last update and has any advice on what I could try to stop it doing this? I fear that this is going to seriously reduce the life of the console if it's running hot 24/7 regardless of whether I have the console in sleep mode or not
