so, ever since I bought these I've been having exactly the same issue with every single pair, the first one was the worst where there was this very audible buzzing sound coming from the right ear pad. The buzzing disappeared when I plugged the headset via usb cable to either the ps4 pro console or to PC.
So I went back to the shop and they replaced it with a new pair, which oddly enough didn't have that very audible buzzing coming from right ear, you could still hear it, mind you, especially when the console was under load, like when playing a game like uncharted 4 or driveclub, but the replacement had this very silent, but noticeable noise coming, again, from right earpad. It is so distracting to hear the hum while playing a game, especially during stealth sections or when a dialogue is playing.
So I just went back to the shop to return the replacement and finally refund these, but they, to my surprise offered me a third pair, which I initially refused, but they told me I can return it within the 2 weeks if I find them faulty. So I picked them up, went home and started my console, plugged in the dongle and turned on the headset and to my utter disappointment, they had this "noise" issue aswell. So iam just going to return them and refund them so I don't spend any more money on gas and deal with these faulty headphones any more.
Long story short, had three pairs !!!!! of these and all had very similar issue. I don't know whether it's a software issue or not, and if sony can even fix this by dropping an update to the firmware via the companion app. But Iam basically done with trying to get a non faulty ones. Iam massively disappointed in the sony QC, how could so many of the new headphones even gone through the testing and quality control is beyond me. Bear in mind Iam not the only one with this exact same issue

It's even more disappointing, when I think about how many of the solid sony products I bought over the years and didn't have a single issue with either of them. I own the original stereo wireless headset for ps3, the pulse elite headset and the gold 2.0 headset aswell. I never had a signle issue with any of these. What happened then? I may have a hunch the launch of these new platinum headphones was delayed for almost 2 months due to this issue many of us are experiencing right now.
Shame, because I was really looking forward to these. What's even more disappointing is the fact that I absolutely love them, because they sound freaking fantastic when compared to any other sony headset I have, but I need to have them plugged via an usb cable and thats a big nono when it comes to WIRELESS headphones.
Iam frustrated and disappointed.
