Controller Bluetooth Issue

So I am genuinely concerned for my PS4. I bought it the day it was released and have zero issues at all, until a few weeks ago.

I was sick so I moved my PS4 from my living room to my bedroom (obviously), and it was then I noticed that my controller was not responding the way it normally would. I play NBA 2K17 and I would run towards a defender and stop, but my controller would continue making my character run past the defender to the other side of the court.

It got worse as my controllers would disconnect suddenly for no reason even with a full charge and sitting at equal level with my PS4 at the end of my bed. I say controllers because I figured my controller was crapping the bed because surely the console I bought years ago wouldn't be acting up now. Nope. I was wrong as both controllers can't find success.

I've already done live chat support with Sony to see if they could find a solution. I rebuilt the database through safe mode and that didn't solve the issue. The next course of action I was given was to download the latest patch file onto an external hard drive along with other saved files I want to keep and then wipe my playstation.

From what I have read on the internet so far through reddit and other Sony threads, I haven't seen a true fix for this yet. I remain hopeful but I haven't seen much promise as most people in my position drop the money to get a new one. My overall concern is whether it is worth it to wipe the hard drive and giving that a shot or am I just beating around the bush until I realize that it's dead and need to buy a new one.

Thank you in advance for any guidance or advice anyone leaves.
