I have an older 4k TV from 2014 which has 4 HDMI ports. One is HDCP 2.2 compatible, and another one is 10 bit Ultra Deep Color compatible.
HDCP 2.2 is required to watch 4K content on the streaming apps on the PS4 Pro (confirmed by others and I've tested it myself). 4K on youtube works with HDCP 1.4 as far as I can tell.
Question is;
Do I need to run HDCP 2.2 to get full 4K support when playing supported 4K games on the PS4 Pro, or doesn't HDCP matter as long as my HDMI port supports 4K at 60 hz (which they all do)?
Reason for asking is I prefer to use the 10bit HDMI port to get RGB color format on my PS4, which I find makes a huge difference on playing games as well as watching HBO etc. If I use my HDCP 2.2 port I will only be able to use YUV420 color format.
I hope for constructive feedback. Should I maybe contact Sony to confirm if HDCP matters when playing games?
